Subtropical
Climate
The subtropical climate consists of two separate zones, located just
north of
the Tropic of Cancer and just south of the Tropic of Capricorn; roughly
between 28 and 40 degrees north and south of the
Equator. Typically, these zones have the following
characteristics:
A mean temperature of the coldest month between 6º and
18ºC.
Some seasonal temperature variation
Distinct wet and dry seasons
The possibility of some winter frosts, but not too severe
A minimum heat accumulation of about 2000º Celsius Days.
Subtropical Growing regions can be Arid (Mediterranean) or Humid.
