Subtropical Climate
The subtropical climate consists of two separate zones, located just north of the Tropic of Cancer and just south of the Tropic of Capricorn; roughly between 28 and 40 degrees north and south of the Equator. Typically, these zones have the following characteristics: Subtropical Growing regions can be Arid (Mediterranean) or Humid.  

Mediterranean
  • Located on the west coasts of continents (California, Spain)
  • Hot/warm, dry summers. Wet winters.
Humid
  • Eastern shores of continents (Florida, China)
  • Long, wet summers
