GOBI Login Problems To: GOBI Search Users We've been getting a number of calls from folks having difficulty logging into GOBI. Since the problem seems to be widespread, we thought it prudent to share the solutions. First, when logging into GOBI, another browser window is launched without toolbars or address bars. When logging out of GOBI, it is required that you click the logout link in the lower right hand corner of that GOBI popup window. Logging out will automatically close the popup window. The Logout Link is in a very small font and difficult to see. However, without properly logging out, the next time you try to log into GOBI, the main "frame" of GOBI displays only as a blank blue screen with no info. The menus are still present, however, clicking them does not display anything but blue in the main "frame". To fix this problem, click the small Logout link in the lower right corner of the window and try to log back on again. If this still does not work, turn off the computer, turn it back on again, and try to access GOBI again. Second, because GOBI launches another browser window, if popup blocking software has been loaded, the popup blocker will automatically close this GOBI window. Popup blocking software must be turned off before logging into GOBI. We noticed that the recent installation of Real Player to access President Dynes video presentation included an installation of a Google Toolbar which has popup blocking capabilities. This toolbar interferes with GOBI. (Please note that the Popup problem #2 closes the GOBI window without a proper logout.
