Vendor Selection Guidelines for U.S. Monographic orders
Here are our new guidelines for ordering, effective 1/2007 - we'll be using Midwest (vendor code mido) for firm orders more than we
have been; they've offered us a better discount if we increase our orders. Midwest has a huge list of publishers they deal with
(much larger than it was a few years ago when we stopped doing a lot of ordering from them.) We've had no problems ordering from
them with edifact, and they're also quite responsive when we've had any questions.

| 0% discount from Yankee: | Midwest (mido) |
| Sci-fi in stock: | Baker & Taylor Sci Fi acct (batsf) |
| Sci-fi not in stock: | Bookhouse Sci Fi acct (bkhsf) |
| Titles older than two years: | Split between bkhos and mido (that is, use Bookhouse for one request, Midwest for
the next - try not to switch within the same packet, as that will make it more complicated for confirmations as well as other things...) |
| Reserve orders in stock at B&T: | online via B&T Link (batr) |
| Reserve orders not in stock: | use Bookhouse's online Order Database (bkhos) |
| Other rushes: | bkhos & mido |

Vendor Selection Guidelines for Serial Replacement orders
See Ordering Serial Replacements for complete Replacement Ordering procedures. Order 3x maximum
then declare the issue unavailable. Math journals, try 1x maximum. For Slavik journals, if it isn't available from Absolute,
it is not available. Indian publications, are rarely available, declare the issue unavailable immediately.
