Hours
Reference librarians are trained professionals who help
library users with their information and research needs. That's why
we are there! Here's how you can take advantage of our
expertise:
Reference Desk Service
During scheduled hours, librarians are available at the Reference Desks to help you use the library efficiently
and effectively. They can help you locate information and
resources, guide you through the research process, and teach you how to use the
various online periodical databases, catalogs, and the web. Assistance is on a first-come, first-served basis. Priority is given to UCR
faculty, staff and students.

You can phone us at the following numbers with questions about the collection
or for quick facts and information. Please note that we always give
preference to those who visit the library in person. When you call, we may
be busy helping other users and unable to answer the phone.

Reference by Email
We can answer simple requests for information or questions regarding our
collection by email. Suggestions for library resources and
referrals that would help
you with your specific question will also be provided. We will
give priority to those users affiliated with the university.

Reference by Appointment
UCR students, faculty and staff can make an appointment with a reference librarian
for in-depth, personalized research assistance. Appointments
are generally scheduled Monday - Friday, 9 - 5. To make an appointment,
you can stop by the Reference Desks, give us a call, or contact us via
email. Or simply use the RBA Request
